INK JET INKS for PRINTERS and WIDE FORMAT PLOTTERS

     FLEXOGRAPHIC INK

   PJC Flex 50

ATPColor's flexographic ink (PJC Flex 50) is a modern ink for flexographic printing on non absorptive base. The ink is produced on the basis of nitrocellulose. Both, for a raster and dashed line printing, PJC Flex 50 ink shows perfect printing properties.

We recommend printing with PJC Flex 50 ink on the following bases:

  • Polyethylene (PE),

  • Polypropylene in bulk (CPP),

  • Polypropylene oriented (OPP),

  • Polypropylene non oriented (BOPP),

  • Polypropylene coated with acrylic resin (ACPP),

  • Polyamide (PA),

  • Activated Polyester (PET),

  • Cellophane,

  • Coated Cellophane (PVDC).

FLEXOGRAPHIC INK

Product Description

Characteristics

  • Good transmission of ink, perfect solubility, minimal increase of raster point. Moreover ink properties are stable during the printing, have got low remainder of solvent, high photosensitivity 3-8 dependent of used pigment and thickness of coating.

  • Ingredients of PJC Flex 50 ink are as follows: nitrocellulose, auxiliaries, ethanol, isopropanol, ethyl acetate and organic pigments.

  • PJC Flex 50 ink is delivered ready to print. The concentrated ink can be provided for mixer systems.

  • PJC Flex 50 ink can be mixed according to the Pantone palette or sample delivered by client.

Technical data

  • Viscosity (when delivered): 34-46 second

  • Flexography without squeegee 19-23 second

  • Flexography with squeegee: 32-34 second (Ford's cup f = 4 mm, 20 oC)

Raster cylinders

  • Color intensity obtained using flexographic ink is dependent on type of applied cylinder, i.e. the number of lines per centimeter and volume of raster ink carriers.

Solvent

  • Standard: ethanol, n-propanol or isopropanol

  • Fast: ethanol

  • Slow: methoxypropanol

Caution

  • Ethyl acetate is not used as solvent according to the possibility of high solvent remainder in a dry printout.

  • Before of using PJC Flex 50 ink one have to clean carefully pumps, ink carriers, raster cylinders out of a previously applied ink, especially based on polyvinyl binding agent.

  • PJC Flex 50 ink can be used in every flexographic and rotogravure machines.

Industrial safety

  • PJC Flex 50 ink is not hazardous if one observes the rules. Detailed information is presented in included MSDS.

Environmental contamination

  • PJC Flex 50 ink is not dangerous environmentally if it is used appropriately and in accordance with the instructions. One may not allow outflow of the ink into environment

Packaging

  • PJC Flex 50 ink is delivered in 20 kg cans, 180 kg barrels, 1000 kg containers, according to the client order.

Storage

  • PJC Flex 50 ink should be storage in room temperature in encapsulated containers.

FLEXOGRAPHIC INK

Advices

Before printing

  • Check whether the number of ink is proper

  • Clean the cylinders and raster ink-carriers. It is important before changing of ink.

  • If the ink was stored in temperature lower then 20 - 25oC, it should be moved to the printing area the day before using.

  • Stir carefully ink before printing

  • The ink should be pumped up through printing machine before fitting the proper value of viscosity adjusted by adding of solvent.

During printing

  • The value of viscosity should be kept constant during the whole printing process. If appear problems with ink color, one should check the ink viscosity and if needed to correct it by adding solvent,

  • The ink may not be exposed on influence of high temperature, because it can dry out inside printing machine,

  • If the ink drying time is too long, one should check the temperature, flow intensity of air in the drying channel, ink viscosity and eventually to add solvent. If the ink is drying to fast one should add 5 - 10% of methoxypropanol and if it is possible to increase the speed of printing.

After printing

  • Pour the rest of ink to container for future using,

  • Clean printing system with the same cleaning flush as it was used for changing ink viscosity,

  • Printouts accomplish the full quality after 24 hours.
